Effective start date: December 2025 (or January at the latest)

Closing date for Applications: Friday 26th September 2025

The Position

We are seeking to appoint an Admissions Manager who will provide management and delivery of the School’s admissions functions. The Manager of Admissions will report to the Principal in the first instance as the school grows but the reporting line may change in the future. The role comes about due to the relocation of the current post holder.

The successful candidate will have experience in premium school admissions and the capacity to articulate NLCS Kobe’s mission and ethos in a compelling manner. They will foster and develop excellent relationships with feeder school heads, prospective students and parents, and relevant staff, championing the merits of a NLCS Kobe education.

The successful candidate will understand the current educational landscape in Japan and have knowledge of international student recruitment. Ideally, they will be fluent in English and Japanese and have worked in an admissions function previously, but excellent non-Japanese speakers are welcome to apply. Excellent oral and written communication skills, combined with the ability to form and maintain strong relationships, are essential.

NLCS Kobe offers a diverse, friendly and supportive team of staff who are committed to making this one of the best schools in Japan. Our community is excited about our school and our admissions manager will ensure that the school continues to grow over the years ahead.

NLCS Kobe

NLCS Kobe opened in August 2025 to students from Grade 1 (UK year 2) to Grade 6 (UK year 7) in the Asia One Centre on Rokko Island, a man-made island 20 minutes from the center of Kobe. In 2028 Grades 6 to 12 will be educated in a new senior school on Rokko Mountain, an area of natural beauty to the north of Kobe. This school will accommodate 560 children, with 60 boarding students. By 2030, we plan to open an additional junior school in the City of Osaka and may have also found a different site for the Asia One Centre school in Kobe itself.

NLCS (UK)

North London Collegiate School (UK) was founded in 1850 by Frances Mary Buss, with a mission to offer academically ambitious education to girls comparable to that available to their brothers. For over 160 years, the School has been a pioneer in women’s education and remains one of the UK’s highest-achieving schools. Exam results consistently place NLCS (UK) at the top of league tables, and the School regularly excels in Oxbridge admissions.

International Schools

In 2011, NLCS opened its first international branch in South Korea. NLCS Jeju, a co-educational day and boarding school that offers the IB Diploma to all Sixth Form students and has achieved outstanding results since the first graduating cohort in 2014. NLCS Jeju alumni continue to gain admission to prestigious universities worldwide, including in the UK, USA, Australia, and Asia. In 2017, NLCS opened its second branch school, NLCS Dubai, in the UAE. This co-educational day school follows the IB Continuum, with students taking the IB Diploma in Grade 12. In 2020, NLCS (Singapore) opened as the third branch school. Located in the heart of Singapore, it is a co-educational day school.
