North London Collegiate School Jeju - Graduate Assistant Programme 2026-2027
Graduate Assistant Programme – Launch Your Career at NLCS Jeju!
NLCS Jeju is seeking adventurous, energetic, and ambitious graduates to join our team of committed and innovative staff. As a Graduate Assistant, you will gain valuable experience in an international educational setting while participating in a bespoke training program designed to support your professional development and enhance your employability. This role is ideal for those with future career aspirations in education or working with young people, offering opportunities to develop your academic, pastoral, and interpersonal skills through hands-on experience.
You will live in a rent-free, en-suite studio flat within a Boarding Home on campus, supporting our boarding staff in the pastoral care of students outside of school hours. During the school day, you will collaborate with the academic team in your assigned department. We welcome applications from all academic backgrounds, with a particular interest in candidates with experience in Sports, Arts, Music, Design, Drama, or Dance. We are also looking for one Graduate Assistant to place with our admissions and marketing department; this would particularly suit candidates with a background in design and/or social media or video content production.
Our Graduate Programme has a proven track record of serving as a professional pathway for aspiring teachers and those interested in a career in boarding. While there are no guarantees, many former Graduate Assistants have secured full-time teaching positions within our faculty, and others have progressed to roles such as Assistant Boarding Masters/Mistresses, working toward leading their own Boarding Homes.
The Graduate Programme runs for the full duration of the academic year, and candidates must be available from the beginning of August 2026 through to the end of June 2027. This is a fixed-term commitment, and applicants should ensure they can fulfil the entire programme period before applying. If you are ready to embrace this opportunity, develop your skills, and contribute to our vibrant community, we encourage you to apply.
THE NLCS INTERNATIONAL FAMILY OF SCHOOLS
North London Collegiate School (UK) was founded in 1850 by Frances Mary Buss; her aim was to offer an academically ambitious education to girls. The School has continued to pioneer aspirational, ambitious and high achieving women’s education for over 160 years and remains among the highest achieving schools in the UK. Exam results regularly top the UK league tables and the School has repeatedly outperformed other prestigious schools in terms of Oxbridge success rates.
NLCS Jeju was the first NLCS international school to be founded in 2011. In 2017, NLCS Dubai opened, followed by NLCS (Singapore) in 2020. The latest member of the NLCS International family of schools, NLCS Kobe in Japan, opened its doors in August 2025.
NLCS International is always looking for talented and ambitious education professionals to join the group in order to build their career with us and benefit from the many professional development and career-progression opportunities, which a group of world-class schools such as ours can offer.
NLCS JEJU
North London Collegiate School Jeju (NLCS Jeju) is a leading British International school providing an exceptional education experience for day and boarding students aged 4-18. The first international school to be opened in the vibrant Global Education City on the spectacular South Korean Island of Jeju, NLCS Jeju has rapidly established itself as a centre of educational excellence in South East Asia. The School, now in its fifteenth year of operation, has over 1300 students on the roll.
NLCS Jeju offers the IGCSE qualification in Year 11 and then the IB Diploma to all its students in the Sixth Form and has achieved outstanding results since its first cohort of graduating students in 2014. The School's average IB points score is consistently above 37 out of 45 and is comfortably established as one of the top 50 IB schools in the world and one of the top 10 large cohort IB schools globally. NLCS Jeju graduates go on to study at many of the world's leading colleges and universities including Oxbridge in the UK and Ivy League institutions in the US.
OUR ETHOS
The ethos of NLCS Jeju echoes that of NLCS (UK): The School aims to provide a first-rate ambitious academic education for every child, which inspires a life-long love of learning and gives the knowledge, attitudes and confidence to flourish.
At NLCS Jeju academic success is gained, not through an emphasis on results, by creating an atmosphere of rigorous scholarship; students are encouraged to study beyond the examination syllabus in order to develop their intellectual independence and love of their subjects. The pastoral well-being is of the utmost importance and good relationships are fostered between students and staff, as well as between the students themselves.
The co-curricular life of NLCS Jeju is vibrant, both in academic and non-academic fields. Students participate in a wide range of subject-focused and led clubs and societies, whilst co-curricular sport, music, art and drama are all of excellent quality. Over 200 different co-curricular activities take place every week.
LIFE IN JEJU
Jeju Island, 130km off the southern coast of the Korean peninsula, is often described as one of Asia’s best-kept secrets. Jeju’s temperate climate, natural scenery, fascinating local culture (including great food!) and beaches make it a popular tourist destination for South Koreans as well as visitors from other parts of East Asia.
In 2007, UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee listed Jeju as a World Natural Heritage site. The island also possesses outstanding geological features and special properties as a habitat for a variety of rare and endangered species.
Jeju provides NLCS staff and their families with a safe, peaceful and breathtaking environment in which to live. The island also offers easy transport connections to destinations across South Korea as well as other areas of East Asia, including Shanghai, Taipei, Osaka and Tokyo.
